Richard Featherstone, Ph.D.
Richard Featherstone serves as a staff chaplain at Nebraska Medicine in Omaha, Nebraska. His mission is to encourage and support patients, Nebraska Medicine employees, and their loved ones.
Before being called into chaplain work, Richard worked in higher education for almost twenty years. Richard has served as an academic dean, associate dean, department head, and program coordinator. For example, he served as the Dean of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences at Dixie State University (now Utah Tech University), and as an Associate Dean at the University of Northern Iowa.
Richard earned a masters degree in exegetical theology from Western Seminary, a Ph.D. in sociology from Purdue University, and a certificate in Change Leadership from Cornell University. He has also received strengths coach training from the Gallup Organization and has completed The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People Signature Program from FranklinCovey.
Richard has been married to Kathryn since 2001. They have two daughters, Ellie and Aubrey. As a family they enjoy hiking and playing badminton together, where the kids usually beat the parents.
